We’re opening Sinfonia Classics with ANNA FEDOROVA—and taking the programme to five cities!
As Chief Conductor of Sinfonia Rotterdam, I’m delighted to begin our 2026–27 Sinfonia Classics series with a musical reunion.
Two years after our memorable collaboration in Chopin’s Second Piano Concerto, Anna returns to perform Grieg’s Piano Concerto with us. I’m very much looking forward to renewing that musical dialogue.
Our programme moves from the moonlit colours of Debussy’s Clair de lune, orchestrated by André Caplet, through Grieg’s romantic sweep, to the sparkling vitality of Bizet’s Symphony in C.

A very special season finale in Rotterdam.
On Saturday 6 June 2026, I have the great honour of closing the Sinfonia Rotterdam season in the Grand Hall of de Doelen with the extraordinary soprano Pretty Yende.
This evening holds particular meaning for me. Pretty and I both come from South Africa, and her remarkable journey from Piet Retief to the world’s greatest stages is deeply inspiring. With her radiant artistry, she has captivated audiences at the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, the Royal Opera House, the Coronation of King Charles III, and the reopening of Notre-Dame in Paris.
Together with Sinfonia Rotterdam, we will present an all-Mozart programme, with Pretty Yende bringing some of Mozart’s most beautiful arias to life. This music calls for elegance, purity, joy and humanity — and few artists embody these qualities so naturally.
I am proud and grateful to welcome Pretty to Rotterdam, and I look forward to sharing this special evening with our audience.
